Area-Bound Syncshells

Area-Bound Syncshells automatically join or leave syncshells based on your in-game location. This allows you to share your character data with players in specific areas without manual management.

What It Does

Area-Bound Syncshells:

  • Automatically detect when you enter or leave a specific area
  • Join the corresponding syncshell when you enter the area
  • Leave the syncshell when you leave the area
  • Support various location matching modes (exact, territory, housing plots, etc.)
  • Require your consent before joining for the first time
  • Remember your consent and auto-join on future visits

When to Use It

Area-Bound Syncshells are perfect for:

  • Housing districts: Share with players in your housing plot
  • Event venues: Set up syncshells for events at specific locations
  • Roleplay hubs: Automatically join RP area syncshells

How It Works

Location Matching Modes

Sphene supports multiple matching modes for precise location detection:

  • Exact Match: Match specific territory, map, division, ward, house, and room
  • Housing Plot Outdoor: Match housing plots when player is outside
  • Housing Plot Indoor: Match housing plots when player is inside (supports ground, basement, second floor)

For your privacy and control:

  • First time entering an area with a syncshell, you'll see a consent request
  • You can choose to allow or deny joining that syncshell
  • Your choice is remembered for future visits
  • You can revoke consent at any time in the syncshell settings

Auto-Join

Once you've granted consent:

  • Sphene automatically joins the syncshell when you enter the area
  • No manual intervention required
  • Seamless experience when moving between areas

Housing Interior Support

Sphene can detect which floor of a housing interior you're on:

  • Ground floor: Default interior level
  • Basement: Below-ground level
  • Second floor: Above-ground level

This allows for precise syncshell matching even within the same housing plot.

Visual Feedback

Sphene provides visual feedback for area syncshell availability:

  • Badge notifications show when area syncshells are available
  • Icon effects indicate your current syncshell status
  • Clear visual cues when joining or leaving syncshells

Configuration

You can configure Area-Bound Syncshells in the syncshell settings:

  • View available syncshells: See all area-bound syncshells in your current location
  • Manage consent: Grant or revoke consent for specific syncshells
  • Set matching preferences: Choose which matching modes to use
  • Pause syncshell functionality: Temporarily disable auto-join behavior

Tips

  • Use Housing Plot Indoor mode for private housing syncshells that only work inside
  • Check the syncshell UI to see which syncshells are available in your current area
  • Revoke consent for syncshells you no longer want to auto-join
