City Syncshells automatically join syncshells when you enter major cities, making it easy to share your character data with players in city hubs.
What It Does
City Syncshells:
- Automatically detects when you enter a major city
- Joins the corresponding city syncshell
- Leaves the syncshell when you leave the city
- Supports Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul'dah
- Shows an explanation UI on first city entry

How It Works
Automatic Detection
Sphene automatically detects:
- When you enter a supported city territory
- Which specific city you're in
- When you leave the city territory
Auto-Join Behavior
When you enter a city:
- Sphene checks if a city syncshell exists
- Automatically joins the syncshell
- You can now share data with other players in the city
- When you leave, Sphene automatically leaves the syncshell
First-Time Explanation
On your first city entry:
- Sphene shows an explanation UI
- Explains what city syncshells do
- Asks for your consent to join
- Your choice is remembered for future visits
City Alias Generation
Each city syncshell has a unique alias:
- Includes the server name for cross-server identification
- Includes the city name
- Ensures unique syncshell IDs across servers
Configuration
Configure city syncshells in settings:
- Enable/disable: Turn city syncshells on or off
- Per-city control: Enable/disable for specific cities
- Explanation reminder: Show explanation again if needed
- Notification settings: Choose when to receive city syncshell notifications

- City syncshells are great for meeting new players in city
