Incognito Mode
Incognito Mode allows you to hide your character data from other players while remaining connected to Sphene.
This is useful when you want to stay connected but temporarily don't want others to see your character appearance.
If you are in a Party, the memebrs of that party don't get Paused so you can enjoy your time with friends
and dont need to share everything with everyone arround you. (Perfect for couples)
What It Does
When you activate Incognito Mode:
- All your paired connections are automatically paused (except players in your own group)
- Other players see your character with their vanilla appearance (no mods applied)
- You remain connected to Sphene and can still see your friends in Party.
- When you exit Incognito Mode, all paused pairs are automatically resumed
When to Use It
Incognito Mode is useful in situations like:
- Testing: Test how your character looks before everyone can see it.
- Privacy: Temporarily hide your appearance from specific players.
- Social Comfort: Feel more comfortable in social situations where you don't want to show your mods.
How It Works
- Activation: Click the Incognito Mode button in the main Sphene UI.
- Automatic Pausing: All your paired connections are automatically paused.
- Data Hiding: Your character data is no longer sent to other players.
- Cooldown: A short cooldown prevents accidental toggling.
- Exit: Click the button again to exit Incognito Mode and resume all pairs and Syncshells.
Pre-Paused Pairs Tracking
Sphene remembers which pairs were paused before you entered Incognito Mode. When you exit:
- Pairs that were already paused remain paused
- Only pairs that were auto-paused by Incognito Mode are resumed
- This gives you fine-grained control over which connections are active
Vanilla State Enforcement
While in Incognito Mode, Sphene enforces that paused pairs remain in their vanilla state. This prevents any data from being accidentally applied while you're trying to hide your appearance.
Tips
- Use Incognito Mode alongside the "Hide icon in GPose" setting for complete privacy during GPose sessions
- You can manually unpause specific pairs while in Incognito Mode if needed
